The Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to express its deepest condolences over the death of the inspector-investigator of Borjomi division of Samtskhe-Javakheti Regional Main Division -Giorgi Beruashvili and condoles to the family of the deceased.Owning to the poor condition of health transportation of Giorgi Beruashvili to the medical facility abroad was not manageable.Doctors did their best to save policeman’s life. Due to the received wounds, Giorgi Beruashvili died on February 6. The funeral expenses of the killed policeman will be fully covered by Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Giorgi Beruashvili was fullfiling his duty on 23 January, in Likani and shot by resident of Borjomi, several times convicted in the past -Shalva Abuladze (Dob 1977). Health condition of the second policeman Giorgi Makharashvili who was wounded during the incident as well in Likani is stable. He is undergoing medical treatment in the N. Kipshidze University Hospital. At the moment law enforcers are holding intensive operative-searching activities in order to detain Shalva Abuladze.
