False information is being disseminated through the internet asserting that Ministry of Internal Affairs detected facts of violation connected with viewing and copying of video files with elements of gay-porn and pedophilia.
According to the same source, the viewer’s computer was blocked for safety reasons and violating the legislation while viewing the files of sexual character. Within 12 hours the criminal case will be transferred to the court. On the same web page the request on paying 87 GEL in 12 hours period was also disseminated.
Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to state that disseminated information is false and no such action is being implemented by the Ministry. Ministry of Internal Affairs would alsolike to call on citizens to report to the police according to the place of residence in case of detecting such notifications in internet space. In connection with the above mentioned, investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal access in computer system, article 284 of the Criminal Code. Investigation is conducted by the Division for the Fight against Cybercrime of Central Criminal Police Department of MIA.
