Today at the Ministry of Internal Affairs the meeting of “Commission on the Issues of Illegal Interception and Private Life Recordings” was held under the leadership of the Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Tchikaidze. Meeting was also attended by the following members of commission: Minister of Justice Tea Tsulukiani, Public Defender Ucha Nanuashvili, Inspector for the personal data protection Tamar Kaldani, Judge from Tbilisi Court of Appeals Merab Gabinashvili, expert Kakhi Kakhishvili, Head of “Transpatancy International” Eka Gigauri and Editor of “Rezonansi” newspaper Lasha Tughushi. In order to attend the meeting Deputy General Prosecutor Irakli Shotadze was also invited.
At the commission meeting members received information on activities performed by the working group. Commission made the decisions as follows:
1. Next commission meeting will be held on January 31, at 17:00;
2. To submit draft law for adoption on amendments to the Criminal Code of Georgia in order to respect private life and protect inviolability;
3. At the next commission meeting, working group is obliged to present information and data of those video, audio and photo materials which are supposed to be transferred to the Prosecutor’s office for launching investigation and for further destruction;
4. Working group is also obliged to present final report regarding the undertaken tasks for adoption, coordinated with members of “Commission on the Issues of Illegal Interception and Private Life Recordings”.
