The officers of the General Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in coordination with Kvemo Kartli regional Prosecutor's Office, as a result of investigative and operative activities, detained the Deputy Head of Dmanisi Police Division of Kvemo Kartli Police Department - Sh.Z. for the abuse of power and intentional unlawful arrest.
The committed crime envisages from 5 to 8 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that Sh.Z. by abusing his official authority, made an illegal arrest of one of the citizen on the charges of illegal purchase-keeping and carrying of firearms.
The investigation is in progress under the articles 147 and 332 envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.
