As a result of the measures taken by the police forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, entrances of the Legislative body are cleared from the artificially created barriers. All the entrances of the Parliament are unblocked and the legislative body may function without any obstruction.
Today, during the demonstration held nearby the Parliament building, the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained 18 persons under the Administrative Offences Code. These persons are detained by law enforcers under the Articles 173 (Non-compliance with a lawful order or demand of the law enforcement officer) and 166 (Minor Hooliganism).
Adjacent streets to the building of Parliament and Rustaveli Avenue are being cleaned and traffic will be restored in the nearest future.
In order to protect public safety and order, Units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs remain on Rustaveli Avenue.
The Police urges all citizens to obey rules established by law. The Ministry of Internal Affairs will accordingly respond to every offence and each case of violation will be followed by respective actions.
