On November 8, in 6 cinemas of Tbilisi and Batumi, screening of all movies ran as scheduled. The Ministry of Internal Affairs launched investigation on 4 cases related to the incidents, which took place during the demonstration in parallel to movie screening.
Investigation is ongoing regarding the fact of bodily injury to citizen Ana Subeliani, that occurred in Tbilisi, on the adjacent territory of the cinema “Amirani”. The police identified the person committing the mentioned crime on the spot and detained as an accused Sh.Sh. born in 1984
On the fact of assault on David Berdzenishvili, on Merab Kostava Avenue, Tbilisi investigation was commenced under the Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
The investigation was commenced on the fact of assault on police officers under the Article 3531 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. Two law-enforcement officers were injured during the incident, who received respective treatment at the hospital.
As regards the damage inflicted to a vehicle belonging to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the investigation is ongoing under the Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
Overall 27 persons are detained by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Tbilisi and in Batumi for committing offences prescribed by the Article 173 (Non-compliance with a lawful order or demand of a law-enforcement officer) and the Article 166 (Disorderly conduct) of the Administrative Offences Code of Georgia, among them 24 persons are detained in Tbilisi and 3 persons – in Batumi.
Law-enforcement officers continue to conduct operational-investigative activities. Video and photo materials depicting incidents are being studied with the aim of identifying offenders and ensuring respective legal response.
As on November 8 as well as in the coming days the Ministry of Internal Affairs will ensure the public safety and order.
