On June 10, 2017 Emergency Situations Management Agency Received 400 emergency calls out of which up to 100 calls were received from Tbilisi. Heavy rainfall was reported in Shida Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti regions - Khashuri, Surami, Borjomi, Akhaltsikhe and Adigeni. Basementswere flooded as well as, yards of residential houses, homestead plots and agricultural lands. The water level in Surami River has reached its maximum.
Employees of Emergency Situations Management Agency have made quick response on each emergency call, conducted rescue operations, pumped water and participated in clean-up works held on roads.
In order to ensure safety, Patrol Police officers have blocked the traffic movement in the valley of Vere, from MIkheil Tamarashvili street to Hero’s Square. Traffic movement was also restricted from Tsintsadze Street towards valley of Vere.
