As a result of operational measures and investigative actions carried out jointly by the employees of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Tbilisi Prosecutor's Office- L.G. (DoB 2002) was detained who was sentenced before for disobedience to the legal request of the police, also prosecuted as a defendant under Articles 11 (1) -120 and 11 (1) - 187 under the Criminal Code of Georgia. The mentioned person is currently accused under the charges of assaulting a policeman and damaging other’s property by setting fire.
The investigation established that on March 7, 8, 9 of the current year, during the protest rally on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, L.G. threw stones at the police officers and the so-called Molotov Cocktails, as a result of which law enforcement officers were injured.
He also set fire to the vehicle belonging to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The investigation into the mentioned facts is being conducted under Articles 353 prima and 187 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs immediately launched an investigation into the violent actions that took place during the protests on March 7, 8, 9, and appropriate investigative actions are still in progress to arrest all those who attacked police officers and committed other violations.
