Employees of Tbilisi Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operational measures and investigative activities, arrested one person – T.A. (DoB 2001) under Article 353 (I) of the Criminal Code of Georgia for attacking police officers on March 7 of the current year, during the manifestation held near the Georgian Parliament.
The committed crime envisions from 4 to 7 years of imprisonment.
In addition to the mentioned, 66 people were detained by the law enforcement officers on the facts of minor hooliganism and disobedience to the legal request of the law enforcement officer- crimes envisioned under Articles 166 and 173 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
The facts of the offense committed by the mentioned individuals shall be submitted to the court within the time frame established by the law.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs, in accordance with Articles 353 and 187 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, continues investigative activities in order to identify, and detain those who attacked the police and to expose other violent acts during the manifestation near the Parliament building.
