The officers of the Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained G.M – D.o.B.: 1988, previously convicted - in Batumi on charges of robbery. The crime committed by him envisages from 5 to 7 years of imprisonment.
The investigation found that the detainee – threatening with an arm, demanded money from the cashier at the currency exchange point in the trading center of Batumi on May 4, this year. The staff of the shop near the scene tried to stop G.M but he managed to escape. Officer of the Ministry of Defense also tried to stop the defendant outside the building, but the offender managed to get rid of him at this stage too. He was detained in several meters from the scene by the officer of the 1st Unit of Batumi City Division.
