The Security Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has a new head since Giorgi Bagrationi has been appointed to this position. The Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri personally presented the new Head of the Security Police Department to the employees.
“The new Head of the Security Police Department, Giorgi Bagrationi is a principled person, a professional and a good manager. I believe he will perform his function successfully. The progress achieved and the steps taken forward will definitely continue”, stated Vakhtang Gomelauri at the meeting with the employees of the Security Police Department.
The Minister stressed that improvement of the social welfare of employees, development of police infrastructure and provision of proper working conditions remains one of the priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Vakhtang Gomelauri expressed his gratitude to the former Head of the Department, Giga Nikoleishvili, who was responsible for the management of the Security Police during past two years.
After the meeting, the Minister of Internal Affairs and the new Head of Security Police had an opportunity to familiarize with the novelties at the department.
“I have been working in the public sector, it has been five years, particularly at Tbilisi City Hall and I would like to extend my gratitude to the Mayor, the Government, and the City Council for their trust. Security Police Department is a new challenge. 12 000 persons employed at the department, are in charge of protection of the highly important facilities across the country. I would like to thank the Minister for his trust and starting from today I am ready to continue to implement reforms in the areas that the department has been pursuing for past two years”, stated Giorgi Bagrationi.
Giorgi Bagrationi has served as the Head of the Municipal Supervision Service, Municipal Inspection of Tbilisi City Hall. In 2016-2017, he worked as the Head of Samgori District, while in 2015-2016, he was the Head of Municipal Supervision Service of Tbilisi City Hall. In 2014-2015, Giorgi Bagrationi served as the director of LTD “Tbilservice Group”. During 2004-2014, he held various managerial positions in private sector, particularly at commercial organizations. In 2003-2005, he worked at different structural units of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.
Giorgi Bagrationi is an economist. In 1998-2005, he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in International Economics from Georgian Technical University. In 2012, he earned his PhD at the faculty of Business Engineering from the same university.
