The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, together with the head of Shida-Kartli Police Department and representatives of the local government, paid tribute to the memory of 17 heroes who died during the August war 2008 and decorated their graves with a wreath.
Family members and relatives of the deceased were present at the heroes' memorial. Memorial service for the souls of the fallen fighters was also performed at the spot.
On August 11, 2008, 17 Georgian soldiers heroically died during an unequal clash with a Russian military unit.
