The representatives of the relevant units of the Ministry in cooperation with the advisory group working on the rights of persons with disabilities, held the workshop in order to approve the 2023 action plan of the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities.
The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Aleksandre Darakhvelidze and the Executive Director of the Network of Centres for Civic Engagement - Nina Khatiskatsi, Chaired the meeting.
The purpose of the meeting was to present and discuss the 2023 action plan for the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
In order to effectively implement the action plan, the participants of the meeting discussed the goals and objectives of the plan, the activities to be implemented and their implementation indicators. Within the framework of the meeting, persons with disabilities, representatives of their representative organizations and representatives of other non-governmental organizations working in this field presented recommendations and opinions regarding the action plan.
The workshop was held within the framework of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), with the support of government of Sweden and in cooperation with the Network of Centers for Civic Engagement (NCCE).
