The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze held a meeting with the Country Representative of UN Women Georgia, Kaori Ishikawa.
Parties discussed achieved milestones and the existing cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and UN Women. Aleksandre Darakhvelidze and Kaori Ishikawa determined future priority directions, namely, enhancing capacities of the Human Rights Protection and Investigation Quality Monitoring Department and Territorial Agencies of the Ministry.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of activities implemented by UN Women aimed at strengthening capacities of the Ministry.
During concluding remarks Aleksandre Darakhvelidze thanked UN Women for fruitful cooperation.
UN Women has been cooperating with the Ministry of Internal Affairs for many years and carrying out projects addressing such essential issues as: fight against domestic violence and violence against women, gender equality, sexual harassment, etc.
