The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri commemorated officers of Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Defence of Georgia fallen during the August war 2008. Deputy Minister has visited Karaleti base of Special and Emergency Measures Center.
Vakhtang Gomelauri laid a wreath on the memorial of fallen heroes.
As a result of the August war of 2008 14 police employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were killed.
The Deputy Minister departed to Shindisi from Karaleti Base and laid a wreath on the newly opened memorial to 17 soldiers died during the war in August 2008. The memorial was opened by the initiative and funds of Shida Kartli Regional Main Division.
