Mr. Archil Talakvadze, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Mrs. Tamar Khulordava, the Deputy Minister of Corrections held a meeting with Mr. Maud de Boer-Buquicchio, Special Rapporteur on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography. The parties talked about the measures carried out against minors trafficking, the problems related to the children living and working in the streets and the children’s illegal migration as well as their placement in the penitentiary system and rehabilitation.
The Deputy Ministers introduced to the Special Rapporteur the future plans and projects of the Ministries.
The UN delegation arrived in Georgia on April 11. The delegation members will meet the representatives of executive, legislative and judicial authority, nongovernmental organizations and business-sector. The delegation will hold summarizing press conference and leave Georgia on April 18.
