Having made the summary report of the implemented infrastructure projects of the MIA Border Police of Georgia, the Head of the Agency General-Major Zurab Gamezardashvili visited the border sectors “Kirnati” and “Sarpi” on Georgian-Turkish State border to personally participate in border patrolling and get acquainted with the working routine of the border guards. The border Police of Georgia have built 10 border sectors the current year, and the Head of the Agency decided to take part in scheduling the nest years’ infrastructure projects himself. ”New and modern infrastructure will have its effect not only on border guards’ living conditions. The State border is the face of the country, well secure borders are the guarantee of the strong State, and the strong State itself becomes the premise of the brighter future of the Georgian citizens”, declared General Gamezardashvili.
The Chief of the Border police also visited the II Office (Batumi) of the Operations Management Main Office of the Coast Guard Department and observed the shift changing and patrolling of the CG patrol boats. General Gamezardashvili also visited the construction site of the Coast Guard Boat Basin in Batumi. Construction of the Batumi Boat Basin is important for the security of the Black Sea Region. Its construction should be completed in June 2015.
