With the financial assistance of the European Union, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) handed over heavy-duty trucks to the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
The handover ceremony took place at the Red Bridge Division of the Land Border Protection Department of the Border Police. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, the Chief of Border Police - Nikoloz Sharadze, the Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) - Sanja Celebic Lukovac and the Head of the Cooperation of the European Union Delegation - Nicholas Cendrowicz.
The donated trucks will significantly enhance the efficiency of the Border Police personnel and improve border protection capabilities.
The handover of trucks was carried out by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) with the financial support of the European Union as part of the project - "Border and Migration Management Action for Georgia (BMMAG)", which has been implemented in close cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs since 2022.
With the support of the International Organization for Migration and the financial assistance of the European Union, a number of important projects have been implemented which aim to strengthen the capabilities of Georgia in the direction of border and migration management.
