The officers of Border Police first division along with investigative-operative main division, as a result of jointly held operative-investigative activities detained Varden R. (DoB 1972) and Zurab Q. (DoB 1988) for attempting to cross Georgia state border illegally.
Investigation established that detainees attempted to cross Georgian state border illegally in vicinities of Kirnati border checkpoint to the direction of the Republic of Turkey Varden R. was detained while crossing state border, while Zurab Q. managed to leave the place of crime. He was detained later as a result of operative searching activities held in Batumi. It was established that Zurab Q. was wanted for stealing from January 11, 2010.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of the attempted crossing of the state border illegally, committed by the group, article 19-344, II part, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code.
