Within the scopes of international support and assistance, approximately 10 million USD valued agreements are signed between the Border Police of the MIA and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) of the USA for modernization of protection of Georgian state border.
The first stage of the agreement envisages construction of the border sectors – “KASUMLO” and “KEDI” - of the Border Police of the MIA, also the section of Georgian-Armenian state border shall be equipped with observation, surveillance and monitoring technical means.
Provision of the border sectors with tower, night vision and thermal cameras as well as the special technique and vehicles is planned on the basis of the Agreement. Before March, 2017 the border section of Georgian-Armenian border shall be fully equipped with the monitoring systems and technical means.
Construction of the Cynology Center of the Border Police shall be commenced in February; the Center shall ensure the retraining of the instructors and training of service dogs. New Cynology Center shall be equipped with cages, breeding boxes and surgeries of modern standards.
