Georgian Coast Guard of Ministry of Internal Affairs Border Police of Georgia Celebrates it’s 24th anniversary. The anniversary of the Georgian Coast Guard was celebrated at the Coast Guard Poti base. The official ceremony was opened by Head of MIA Border Police,
Major-General Nikoloz Sharadze with the Director of Coast Guard Department, Captain Ramaz Papidze.
The ceremony was attended by the local municipal authorities and representatives from the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Governor’s office.
Major-General Nikolz Sharadze congratulated the servicemen and women of Georgian Coast Guard.
“Today we mark the celebration day of the Coast Guard Department of MIA Border Police of Georgia. Congratulations to this remarkable day to all the personnel of the Coast Guard Department. Georgian Coast Guard plays important role in ensuring maritime security and its commitments in support of international maritime initiatives has been enhanced in the past few years.
Georgian Coast Guard law enforcement tactical sub-divisions successfully accomplished NATO Evaluation’s four years program. As a result, Alliance granted Georgia with Operational Partner Status to NATO-led maritime security operation SEA GUARDIAN” – pointed by Major-General Nikoloz Sharadze.
Head of the Border Police rewarded 16 representatives of the Georgian Coast Guard for their exceptional service.
