Giorgi Mgebrishvili and Gou Shengkun signed an agreement for the fight against crime
Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili is paying his first working visit to the People’s Republic of China. Within the frames of the visit, Giorgi Mgebrishvili met with the Vice-president and Minister of the Public Security of China- Guo Shengkun.
At the meeting sides discussed the prospects of enhancing police cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries.
"It is very important for us to deepen cooperation with Chinese colleagues in law enforcement sphere. Crime, and especially international organized crime, goes beyond the boundaries of one country. Thus, close and fruitful cooperation with the partner country is important to fight the crime effectively”-stated Giorgi Mgebrishvili.
Minister of the Public Safety expressed his gratitude towards Giorgi Mgebrishvili for paying the visit to China and noted that, such a high-level working visit to People’s Republic of China has not yet taken place. At the meeting, Guo Shengkun has expressed readiness for the cooperation and shared the vision of Giorgi Mgebrishvili on the topic of fighting terrorism and crime with joint forces.
Giorgi Mgebrishvili and Guo Shengkun have signed agreement on the fight against crime between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and Public Security Ministry of People’s Republic of China.
The mentioned document envisages the enhancement of cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two states and acts as a pre-condition to a new level of economic and tourism relations between Georgia and China.
At the meeting Giorgi Mgebrishvili familiarized Guo Shengkun with the recently implemented, ongoing and scheduled reforms of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia as well with as innovative projects referred to the Joint Operations Center. Minister of the Public Security of China expressed his support towards the Georgian colleague in the development of technological capabilities.
As it was stated at the meeting, in October of the recent year, the training is scheduled to be held in China on “Criminology and Investigative Activities” for the Georgian forensics. MIA employees will participate in the mentioned large-scale training for the first time.
