The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistical data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
The number of visitors in February, 2016 amounted to 360 402 more by 23.9 % than the index of the same period in 2015.
According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific weight is the following:
a) Tourist – 120 215 visits (33.6% of general number; increase by 19 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);
b) Transit – 58 456 visits (16.2% of general number, increase by -1.4% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
c) Other – 181 731 visits (50.4% of general number; increase by – 37.4% in comparison with the same index of the last year).
In January-February, 2016 683 561 visits to the country were registered; this index is increased by 13,9% in comparison with the same index of relevant period in 2015.
The most of the visits in February, 2016 were paid again from Azerbaijan (+41%), Turkey (+12.2%), Armenia (+7.5%), Russia (+29,2%) and Ukraine (+23.5%). Also, positive position is retained by the EU countries: respecting the increase of the number of arrivals to Georgia in January-February the following countries traditionally take the leading position: Italy, France, Great Britain, Poland and Germany (relevantly - 29%, 29%, 14%, 11% and 7%), Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (22%) and Uzbekistan (44%), among the countries of Easter Europe – Belarus (26%) and Moldova (31%), Middle East – Israel – (24%), UAE (increased by 480%). Also, the number of tourists form the United States of America has also increased by 13%.
