The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistical data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
The number of visitors in March, 2016 amounted to 450 875 more by 16,7 % than the index of the same period in 2015.
According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific weight is the following:
a) Tourist – 170 281 visits (37.8 % of general number; increase by 24.8 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);
b) Transit – 82 609 visits (18.3% of general number, decrease by -6.3 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);
c) Other – 197 985 visits (43.9 % of general number, increase by 22.5 % in comparison with the same index of the last year).
As for the period from January to March 1 134 436 visitors entered the territory of Georgia that is more by 14,7 % than the index of the same period in 2015.
The most of the visits in March, 2016 were paid again from Azerbaijan (+19%), Turkey (+6.7%), Armenia (+4.2%), Russia (+15,7%), Ukraine (+26,9 %) and Iran (1065,8%). Also, positive position is retained by the EU countries: respecting the increase of the number of arrivals to Georgia in March the following countries take the leading position: Latvia, Italy, France and Great Britain (relevantly - 48%, 27%, 23% and 13%), Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (27%) and Uzbekistan (80%), among the countries of Easter Europe – Belarus (37%) and Moldova (39%), Middle East – Israel – (81%), UAE (348%). Also, the number of tourists form the United States of America has also increased by 10 %.
