The Information-Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistical data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular: The number of visitors in October, 2015 amounted to 504 450– more by 7,3 % than the index of the same period in 2014. According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific number is the following:
a) Tourist - 178 387 visits (of general number increased by 35,4%, in comparison with the same index of the last year, 3,8%);
b) Transit –130 116 visits (general number, increased by 25,8% in comparison with the same index of the last year, 17,3%);
c) Other - 195 947 visits (general number, increase by 38,8% in comparison by the same index of the last year- 4.5%);
As for January-October period the number of visits to the country amounted to 4 995 489 – more by 6,8% than the index of the same period in 2014.
The most of the visits in September 2015 was paid again from Turkey (-3,7%), Azerbaijan (+5%), Armenia (+9,2%), Russia (+15,3%) and Ukraine (+10%). Positive tendency is also preserved in connection with EU countries: in terms of the increasing number of arrivals to Georgia in January-October period the following countries traditionally took the leading position: Lithuania, Italy, Germany and Latvia (relevantly 19%, 14%, 11%, and 11%), Middle Asia countries –Kazakhstan (31%). Number of arrivals to Georgia from Eastern European countries is the following: Belarus (53%) Asian countries – United Arab Emirates increase by 762% and Saudi Arabia (77% increase), Near East-Israel 34% increase from USA is also worth noting (10%).
