The Informational Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular: The number of visitors in May,2015 amounted to 454 545 – more by 14,7 % than the index of the same period in 2014. AS for January-May period the number of visits to the country amounted to 1 835 545 – more by 2% than the index of the same period in 2014. According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific number is the following: a) Tourist - 656 068 visits (35,7% of general number, decrease by 3% in comparison with the same index of the last year); b) Transit – 405 208 visits (22,1% of general number, increase by 21% in comparison by the same index of the last year); c) Other - 774 269 visits ( 42,2% of general number, decrease by 1,3% in comparison by the same index of the last year); The most of the visits in May, 2015 was paid again from Turkey (+0,5%), Azerbaijan (+8,7%), Armenia (+33%), Russia (+42,5%) and Ukraine (-5,8%). Positive tendency is also preserved in connection with EU countries: in terms of the increasing number of arrivals to Georgia in January-May period the following countries traditionally took the leading position: Lithuania, Germany, Czech Republic, Great Britain and Netherlands (relevantly 44%, 27%, 26%, 24% და 14%). Central Asian countries – United Arab Emirates increase by 63%. 15% increase from USA is also worth noting.
