The Information-Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular: The number of visitors in June, 2015 amounted to 496 758 – more by 9,3 % than the index of the same period in 2014. According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific number is the following:
a) Tourist - 197 537 visits (39,8% of general number, increase by 3,4% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
b) Transit – 131 710 visits (26,5% of general number, increase by 80% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
c) other - 167 511 visits ( 33,7% of general number, decrease by -12% in comparison by the same index of the last year);
AS for January-June period the number of visits to the country amounted to 2 332 303 – more by 3,5% than the index of the same period in 2014.
The most of the visits in May, 2015 was paid again from Turkey (-19,8%) Azerbaijan (+15%), Armenia (+33%), Russia (+47%) and Ukraine (-5,8%). Positive tendency is also preserved in connection with EU countries: in terms of the increasing number of arrivals to Georgia in January-June period the following countries traditionally took the leading position: Lithuania, , Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain Latvia and Netherlands (relevantly 27%, 26%, 22%, 18%, 13% and 12%). Central Asia countries – Uzbekistan (110%) Kazakhstan (32%). Number of arrivals to Georgia from Eastern European countries is the following- Belarus (47%) and Moldova (36%). Central Asian countries – United Arab Emirates increase by 678%. 15% increase from USA is also worth noting.
