The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
The number of visitors in June, 2014 amounted to 452 588, more by 7,% than the index of the same period in 2013.
As for January-June period, the number of visits to the country amounted to 2 243 362 - more by 2% % than the index of the same period in 2013.
In accordance with recently activated gradation scale the results are as follows:
A) Tourist - 864 193visits (increase of the total number has reached 38,5%, number increased by 7.7% in comparison with the same index of the last year;
B) Transit- 406 915 visits (18,1% % of general number, numer has decreased by -3% in comparison with the same index of the last year;
c) Other - 972 254 visits (43,4% of general number, reduction by -0,2% in comparison with the same index of the last year).
The most of the visits in June, 2014 was paid again from Turkey (-9%), Azerbaijan (+15,3%), Armenia (-19,3%), Russia (-20%) and Ukraine (+10%). Similar positive tendency is preserved in connection with countries of European Union, where the number of tourists from Lithuania, Austsria, Italy and latvia (89%, 54%, 20%, 16%, and 14% respectively). Number of tourists from middle Asia, namely from Kazakhstan has increased by 29%, while the number of tourists from Eastern Europe, namely from Belarus has also increased by 45%.
