The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
The number of visitors in August, 2014 amounted to 772 216 less by 0,5 % than the index of the same period in 2013.
As for January-August period, the number of visits to the country amounted to 3685 834 - more by 3 % than the index of the same period in 2013.
According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific weight is the following:
a) Tourist - 1 566 646 visits (42,5% of general number; increase by 12% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
b) Transit – 698 284 visits (19% of general number, decrease by -10% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
c) Other - 1 420 904 visits ( 38,5% of general number increase by -0,7% in comparison with the same index of the last year).
The most of the visits in April, 2014 was paid again from Turkey (-5,5%), Azerbaijan (+29%), Armenia (-12,2%), Russia (-7%) and Ukraine (+22,9%). Also, positive position is retained by the EU countries: respecting the increase of the number of arrivals to Georgia in January-July the following countries traditionally take the leading position: Lithuania, Poland, Spain, Latvia and Holand (relevantly - 91%, 40%, 17%, 17%, and 14%), Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (39%), among the countries of Easter Europe: citizens of Belarus with increase by 50%.
