The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
In June 2017 666 493 visitors arrived to Georgia which is more by 28,5% than the index of the same period in 2016.
In January-June period the number of visitors amounted to 2 996 170 which is more by 13,4% than the index of the same period in 2016, as for the number of tourists, it has amounted to 1 309 982 visits which is more by 29% than the index of the same period in 2016.
According to the new method of a conditional division the number of visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia in June 2017 is the following:
a) Tourist – 328 314 (49.3%, of general number; increase by 43% in comparison with the index of the same period in 2016);
b) Transit –158 079 visits (23.7% of general number, in comparison with the index of the last year the number increased by 42.9%);
c) Other – 180 100 visits (27% of general number, increase by 0,8% in comparison with the index of the last year).
The most of the visits in June 2017, were paid again from Armenia (+28,8%), Azerbaijan (+16,6%), Turkey (-6,4), Russia (+45%), Ukraine (+14,4%) and Iran (+222%); Positive tendencies are also retained by the EU states in January-June. The following countries took leading position: Netherlands, Germany Great Britain, Poland, France, Greece, Latvia (36%, 32%, 28%, 25%, 23%, 18% and 18%%). Near Esat-Israel (48%) Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (21%), Uzbekistan (163%). In East European countries Belarus is leading with 26% .Herewith, the number of visitors from the United states has reached 17%.
