The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
In August 2017 1 080 449 visitors arrived to Georgia which is more by 27,4% than the index of the same period in 2016.
In January-August period the number of visitors amounted to 5 059 106 which is more by 18,9% than the index of the same period in 2016, as for the number of tourists, it has amounted to 2 402 699 visits which is more by 29,4% than the index of the same period in 2016.
According to the new method of a conditional division the number of visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia in August 2017 is the following:
a) Tourist – 573 368 (53.1%, of general number; increase by 27,2% in comparison with the index of the same period in 2016);
b) Transit –232 203 visits (25,4%, of general number, in comparison with the index of the last year the number increased by 28,5%);
c) Other – 180 100 visits (21,5% of general number, increase by 26,4% in comparison with the index of the last year).
The most of the visits in June 2017, were paid again from Armenia ((+12%) Azerbaijan (+19%), Turkey (+42%), Russia (+28%), Ukraine (+4%) and Iran (+85%); Positive tendencies are also retained by the EU states in January-August. The following countries took leading position: Great Britain, France, Poland, Lithuania, Italy, and Greece (32%, 31%, 29%, 20%, 17%, 16% and 14%), Near Esat-Israel (40%) Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (17%), Uzbekistan (110%). In East European countries Belarus is leading with (31%) .Herewith, the number of visitors from the United states has reached 27%.
