In order to preserve public order and prevent crime, Ministry of Internal Affairs has implemented special police control activities all across the country on February 14-15 2017 in accordance of the Law on Police.
During the special police control activities law enforcers revealed 78 offences, including:
21 cases of illegal purchase-keeping and carrying of firearms and ammunition, article 236;
23 cases of illegal purchase, keeping and selling of drugs-article 260;
1 case of damaging other’s property-article 187;
1 case of violence –article 126;
1 case if Domestic violence –article 126 (1)
8 cases of stealing, article 177;
1 case of hooliganism, article 239;
1 fact of manufacturing forged currency, article 212;
Three wanted persons were detained by police;
1041 cases of administrative offences have been registered, including:
2 cases of minor hooliganism, article 166;
19 cases of resistance to police, article 173;
18 cases of resistance to police and minor hooliganism, article 173 and 166;
22 cases of carrying a cold steel, article 181(1)
During the special police control policemen seized various types of firearms and ammunition from illegal circulation, including: 5 automatic weapons, 13 pistols, 2 rifles, 8 cut guns, 3 hunting rifles, 2 hand grenades and 560 various bullets.
Law enforcers also seized various types of drugs.
During the police control activities policemen detained 17 persons for the criminal offences, while 36 persons were taken under arrest for the offences envisaged by the Code of Administrative Offences.
