In order to preserve public order and prevent crime, Ministry of Internal Affairs has implemented special police control activities all across the country in accordance of the Law on Police.
During the special police control activities held on January 26-27 of 2017 law enforcers revealed 57 offences, including:
9 cases of illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms (article 236);
15 cases of illegal purchase, selling and keeping of drugs (article 260);
1 case of the illegal smuggling of the drug in and out of Georgia (article 262);
2 cases of damaging other’s object (article 187);
3 cases of the resistance to the police (article 353);
1 case of violence (article 126);
3 cases of the domestic violence (article 126 (1));
5 cases of theft (araticle 177);
1 case of hooliganism (article 239);
Policemen detained two wanted persons.
Police registered 883 cases of the administrative violations, including:
28 cases of illegal consumption of drugs (article 45);
9 cases of minor hooliganism (article 166);
21 cases of the disobedience to police (article 173);
13 cases of the disobedience to police and minor hooliganism (article 173 and 166);
21 cases of carrying cold steel (article 181);
During the special police control policemen seized various types of firearms and ammunition from illegal circulation, including: 2 pistols, 2 rifles, 1 revolver, 1 cut gun, 3 hunting rifles, 3 hand grenades, 1 detonator, 300 gr of TNT and 122 bullets.
Policemen also seized: 3 packages of heroin, 1 package of bio drug, 100 pills of geralgin drug, 1 packages of amphetamine, 1 packages MDMA and etc.
During the special police control activities law enforcers detained 16 persons for the crime envisaged by the Criminal Code and 36 persons for the offence envisaged by the Administrative Code of Offences.
