Team of MIA Patrol Police Department became the owner of “Integrated Border Management Cup”. The winners were awarded by Janos Herman, Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia and Niels Scott, Head of the United Nations in Georgia. At the awards ceremony winners received tournament cup, certificates and memorable gifts.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs- Archil Talakvadze, Deputy Minister of the Finance Giorgi Tabuashvili, head of the Border Police -Zurab Gamezardashvili, Director of Patrol Police Department – Davit Tsinaridze and representatives of organizations supporting the tournament. “Integrated Border Management Cup” in mini-football was held for the first time this year with the support of United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and European Union (EU). The tournament was intended for those agency teams which are involved in unified system of border management, in particular: Patrol Police Department, Border Police, MIA Academy and Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance. The tournament was held at MIA Academy in accordance with Olympic system. Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance took the second place, while the third and fourth places were earned by Border Police and MIA Academy teams. At the solemn ceremony all team members received certificates. The tournament was aimed at promoting unified system of border management in Georgia and for supporting interagency cooperation in this field. Organizers intend to hold the tournament in the following years and invite teams from relevant agencies of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
