Emergency Situations Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has completed its preparations for the 2022 summer season.
The head of the service - Teimuraz Mghebrishvili personally got familiarized with the level of readiness for the tourist season in Batumi and wished success to the rescuers.
The opening ceremony of the season was also attended by the Chairman of the Government of Adjara -Tornike Rizhvadze.
During the event, both land and sea special equipment were exhibited on the Black Sea coast. At the end of the official ceremony, a simulation of a water rescue operation was conducted on the spot, in which, along with personnel and special equipment, a drone was involved.
During the 2022 maritime season, a total of 320 firefighters equipped in line with European standards will work on the coastline, river shores and lakes throughout Georgia, in addition to the mentioned, 50 units of vessels and 8 ATVs will be mobilized. According to the decision of the Minister of Internal Affairs, seasonal rescuers will work with increased salaries this year. Compared to previous years, the salary has been increased for them by 25%.
