The representatives of the European Union (EU) funded project – “Law Enforcement in Central Asia (LEICA)” visited Forensic-Criminalistics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Director of the Forensic-Criminalistics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Giorgi Tvauri and other representatives of the Department hosted the visitors.
The managers of the Forensic-Criminalistics Services of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan participated in the study visit.
The representatives of LEICA and the members of delegation visited the Firearms, Fingerprints, Forensic Biology, Drugs and Pharmaceuticals, Facial Recognition and Photo-Video, Questioned Documents and Handwriting, Computer and Digital Technologies examinations laboratories and ballistic shooting range.
The Forensic-Criminalistics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is located in a newly constructed building in compliance with the modern standards. The laboratories of the department are accredited in accordance with the requirements of the ISO17025 standard.
