Officers of the Investigative Division of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained 4 individuals on the fact of production and use of forged passports, driving licenses and residence permits of the Hellenic Republic.
The crime committed by them envisages imprisonment from 3 to 6 years in length.
The operative-investigative activities carried out by the law enforcement officers revealed that the offenders: Sh. R. (DoB: 1970) and the persons related to the crime - L. Ts. (DoB: 1980), P. G. (DoB: 1970) and A.E. (DoB: 1959) produced false passports, driving licenses and residence permits of the Hellenic Republic, which consequently with the purpose of financial gain were sold to the citizens.
On the basis of the judge's ruling, both the personal searches as well as the searches of the offenders`residential flats were carried out.
On the basis of the obtained evidence and according to the judge's ruling, the police detained all four individuals in Tbilisi. The detainees have pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress under the Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (production, purchase, storage and sale of forged identification cards and other official documents).
