As a result of operative-investigative activities, the officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs seized illegal firearms, as well as illegal ammunition in Tbilisi and Kobuleti.
The officers of Old Tbilisi Police Main Division of Tbilisi Police Department detained L.B. (DoB 1999) in Tbilisi on charges of illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms and ammunition.
During his personal search, law enforcement officers seized a Browning handgun and a magazine as evidence.
As for the second detainee- G.K. (DoB 1991) the officers of Kobuleti District Police Division of Adjara Police Department detained him for illegal purchase and storage of firearms and ammunition. During the search activities held in his place of temporary residence located in Kobuleti, the law enforcers seized: AKS automatic firearm, the so called cut gun, 2 magazines and 46 ammunition cartridges.
The committed crime envisages from 3 to 7 years of imprisonment.
Both cases are being investigated under the Article 236, III and IV parts of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
