As a result of operational and investigative activities, the employees of Kazbegi Police Division of Mtskheta-Mtianeti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained persons convicted in the past: D.G. (DoB 1969) and I.P. (DooB1971) in Kazbegi municipality on charges of multiple thefts committed by an organized group.
The committed crime envisions from 4 to 7 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that the defendants of the so-called scanner to unlock vehicles owned by citizens of foreign countries, from which personal belongings and money were stolen.
As a result of the investigative measures, the police arrested the accused persons. The stolen items and money were seized as evidence.
The investigation is being conducted under Article 177, Part I, Sub-paragraph "B" and Part III, sub-paragraph "A" of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
