Beginning from September 1 LEPL Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs started issuing number plates of new design. First number plate was symbolically issued by the Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Tchikaidze, where the present date was imprinted. The mentioned number plate with the Minister’s signature will stay at MIA Service Agency.
Number plates of new design were made in full compliance with European standards with its shape and design, security signs as provided by Association Agreement reqquirements and Euro Directives.
On the upper left corner of the numper plate Georgian national flag is imprinted, while in the upper right corner code of the country-GE is depicted. Structure of letters and numerals has also been altered. In order to have more protected number plate, and to prevent faking, hologram has also been added. Taking into consideration necessities of Georgian auto park citizens will be able to have rightly shaped number plates to fit on vehicles imported from Japan and the United States.
Georgian moto lovers can also enjoy novelties presented by MIA Service Agency, which implies that motorcycle owners can also have number plates with new design.
New number plates are available at all operational branches of MIA Service Agency, however costly number plates can only be designed in Service Agency located in Rustavi, Kutaisi and Batumi. Citizens can receive number plates in several days after ordering.
Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to inform you that it is not obligatory to change number plates with old design; they will be valid till September 1, 2020.
