Within the frames of cooperation between Emergency Satiations Management Agency and Swiss Agency for Development, mountain-rescue training and field exercise in Gudauri-Kazbegi scheduled on 8-15 March was successfully completed.
Special Emergency Response Division of Emergency Situations Management Agency, I mountain-rescue sub-unit of Stepantsminda and I mountain-rescue sub-unit of Mestia, along with Swiss colleagues conducted joint simulation exercise which, according to the previously elaborated scenario, was held in highlands. Training implied descending the affected person from the high point of the mountain.
The training was aimed at testing reaction mechanisms of emergency services during crises situations and covered issues of mountain-rescue operations, namely: ski technic, using of instruments aimed for searching in avalanche, establishing avalanche types, analyses of the snow layers, arrangement of the protection points, organization of the rescue activities at the site, working with rope, knot preparation, Hypothermy prevention, extraction from the rock fissure estimation of the patient’s health condition and etc.
At the end of the training deputy head of Emergency Satiations Management Agency-Levan Buiglishvili handed out certificates to the training participants while Swiss colleagues awarded them with symbolic gifts.
