Minister of Internal Affairs has held special press briefing today. As Giorgi Mghebrishvili stated, he will continue to work with the new members in his team and reinforce the fight against crime:
“The Agency and me as the Minister of Internal Affairs will continue and strengthen the fight against the crime even more with the support of the government and alongside members of my renewed team! There has always been crime and exists nowadays, but it is more important to see what the government is capable of doing against it. We will face this challenge with intolerant policies! Our goal is to fight the crime more effectively and establish even higher security standards. I want to underline that no benefits, requests will be taken into account when dealing with offenders! Despite periodic insinuations from the defenders of criminals, police will not retreat a single step! It will be acting in full compliance of the law, defend human rights and continue uncompromised fight against criminal! Any person who won’t obey the lawful order of a police officer and expresses disrespect towards the police officer will bear punishment in accord of the law!
