Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili held meeting with the Deputy Minister of Interior of Ukraine Sergey Yaravoi. Deputy Minister along with the delegation members visited Georgia to attend Policeman’s Day.
At the meeting Giorgi Mgebrishvili discussed the importance of enhancing the cooperation with Ukrainian law enforcement agencies. “Ukraine is the strategic partner and friendly country. Ministry of Internal Affairs signed international agreements in all key areas of the competence with the Ukrainian side. Now it is important to implement these agreements and further strengthen our existing cooperation between our law enforcement agencies"
At the meeting Giorgi Mgebrishvili introduced the current and planned reforms to the First Deputy Minister of Interior of Ukraine, including criminal police reform, community-oriented police and analyzes-based policing projects, as well as the high-tech and multifunctional Joint Operations Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Giorgi Mgebrishvili also focused on the international training program of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, within the scope of which the joint trainings on various strategic issues with the law enforcement agencies of the regional and neighboring countries will be held to ensure the efficiency of the fight against crime, the development of a common approach, as well as important contacts formation.
