Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili held meeting with the Ambassador of Austria to Georgia Arad Benko.
At the meeting Giorgi Mgebrishvili and Ambassador of Austria discussed close and fruitful cooperation between the law enforcement bodies and criminal police agencies of the two states.
As it was stated by the Minister Mgebrishvili, Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs has a very important agreement concluded with Austrian counterpart in the police cooperation field, which is the basis of the effective cooperation. Minister of Internal Affairs and Ambassador of Austria have positively assessed activities held by the police attaches in Georgia and Austria as well. At the meeting it was also outlined that Austria is among first states to name Georgia in the list of the safest states.
Minister of Internal Affairs acquainted the Ambassador with the implemented and scheduled reforms, including high-tech and multi-functional Joint Operations Center, which unites all structural units of the agency.
At the meeting Giorgi Mgebrishvili and Arad Banko reviewed details of the visit of the Minister of Interior of Austria to Georgia which will be held this year as well as further enhancement of the mutual cooperation and future plans.
At the end of the meeting Giorgi Mgebrishvili expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador on behalf of the Ministry for the strong support and contribution made in visa liberalization process of Georgia.
