Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili met with the representatives of “British Petrolium” (BP).
At the meeting Giorgi Mgebrishvili and General Manager of BP Georgia- Chris Shliter discussed security issues of the pipelines located on the territory of Georgia as well as risk control and response mechanisms.
Georgia and BP have a number of agreements on ensuring security on objects located in Baku-Tbilisi-Jeihun project, South-Caucasian pipeline project, Western Route Export Pipeline and Supsa Terminal as well as the agreement on security, equipment and operations funding.
MIA Department for the protection of the strategic pipelines, within its competence, provides safety and security of the infrastructure in Supsa Terminal, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhun and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzrum south Caucasian pipelines.
General Manager of BP Georgia, Chris Shliter expressed his gratitude towards the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia for the fruitful and close cooperation.
