Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili and other members of the government attended funerals in Telavi of the deceased police officers- Maia Javakhishvili and Gela Lamazoshvili and condoled to their family members. Both police officers were buried in presence of the honor guard.
On December 30, 2015 officers of Kakheri regional division of the Patrol Police Department Maia Javakhishvili and police captain Gela Lamazoshvili were shot from the hunting rifle. Both of them died due to the received injuries. Person responsible for the mentioned crime was detained by Kakheti Police Department immediately.
Funeral expenses were completely covered by the Ministry. According to the acting legislation, their families will be paid financial compensation. Ministry of Internal Affairs will continue to take care of their families as well.
