Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, attended the opening ceremony of the EU-funded project - "Support in Establishment of Comprehensive Road Safety Database and Further Improvement of Road Safety Management in Georgia".
Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, along with Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development - Guram Guramishvili, Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy of Poland - Grzegorz Puda, Ambassador of Lithuania to Georgia - Andrius Kalindra, Ambassador of Poland to Georgia,- Mariusz Maszkiewicz, Director of National Center for Disease Control and Public Health of Georgia - Amiran Gamkrelidze, Director General for European Integration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Irakli Kurashvili and the representative of the European Union Delegation to Georgia - Alexandre Darras, delivered the opening remarks and talked about the prospects of the project.
Participants of the event discussed activities to be implemented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, along with the other partner agencies within the timeframe of the project. The aim of the project is to strengthen road safety management in Georgia, improve the road accident registration system, create a comprehensive road safety database and strengthen the capacities of the respective agencies in the direction of data analysis.
Aleksandre Darakhvelidze thanked the European Delegation to Georgia for its support in strengthening the capacity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
