112 Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia held a media tour in hotel “Holiday Inn Tbilisi” on 27-28 May, 2015. More than 20 representatives of Regional Media of Georgia participated in the media tour. The two-day event was aimed at informing representatives of media on Unified Emergency Number 112 and providing comprehensive information from the representatives of 112 on implemented, current and future projects.
In the framework of the media tour all the issues of interest for media representatives were discussed. Members of regional media were introduced to work specifics of 112, got familiarized with the innovation implemented for people with hearing disabilities, which enables them to reach emergency number independently. The attendees of the meeting were also provided with the campaigns that were held with the purpose to increase public awareness and enhance services offered for citizens. The participants of the meeting also discussed the law amendments and stricter punishment in case of making unreasonable and false notification.
The second day of the media tour was dedicated to the visit in 112 Center, where they had an information tour, got introduced to work specifics of operators as well as call and massage processing procedures. Upon the end of the media tour the head of Public Relations Department of the MIA Nino Giorgobiani and deputy head of 112 department Thea Gzirishvili awarded participants with certificates.
