The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ms. Natia Mezvrishvili held a meeting with the representatives of local NGOs. The meeting was attended by the heads of the newly established Human Rights Protection Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The goal of the meeting was to set up a mechanism for communication with non-governmental organizations on family offenses, violence against women, juveniles and other issues related to the competence of the Human Rights protection Department.
At the meeting Ms. Natia Mezvrishvili once again expressed her readiness for cooperation and achieving common goals.
The Director of Human Rights Protection Department Ms. Londa Toloraia presented presentation of the works performed by the newly created Department and talked about the future plans of the Department.
After the presentation, a discussion took place and the representatives of the civil sector talked about the difficulties in police activities, which they encounter while working on the issues related to the competence of the Department.
At the end of the discussion, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the NGOs agreed on intensive exchange of information and deepening of cooperation.
